Pickler was born Kellie dawn Pickler 28 June 1986. Pickler had a difficult childhood. The mother she had left at the age of two in order to get out of an abusive relationship. Pickler was reunited with her mother when she was appointed the custodian. But it didn't go as it was originally planned. When Pickler reached the age of 12, the court remanded her to her grandmothers, who brought her up to adulthood. Pickler due to the absence of her parents and older siblings, found herself too busy in school to pursue studies. She said that because she was not able to devote time to study, she decided to learn how to cook and clean at an early stage. Pickler was on the middle and high school's cheerleading team. North Stanly High School, where she was a graduate in 2004 the school she attended was her first choice. Pickler had also tried her hand at being a beauty queen. She was crowned Miss Stanly.
